The agreement
These terms are an agreement between your firm and CTRLX, the company that builds and runs Maven (“Maven”, “we” and “us”). They apply when your firm or you use Maven, the AI workspace at itsmaven.io and app.itsmaven.io. By creating an account or using Maven, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and your firm. If you do not agree, please do not use Maven.
Accounts
- Maven is for firms and the people they authorise. You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms for your firm.
- Your firm’s owners decide who can join and what they can access, and are responsible for the activity of the people they add.
- Keep your sign-in details private and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.
Your content
Your firm owns the documents, messages, playbooks and drafts it adds to or creates in Maven. You give us permission to host, process and display that content only as needed to provide Maven to your firm.
You are responsible for having the right to upload your clients’ information and for meeting your own professional and confidentiality duties to them.
AI-generated work
Maven prepares drafts with AI. Drafts can contain mistakes, so your firm must review and approve work before relying on it or sending it to a client. Maven does not give tax, legal or financial advice, and your firm remains responsible for the professional advice it gives.
Acceptable use
Do not use Maven to break the law, to access information you are not permitted to see, to upload harmful code, to interfere with the service or other users, or to copy or resell the service.
Confidentiality
We treat your firm’s content as confidential and use it only to provide Maven. We describe how we protect it in our Trust Centre and Privacy policy.
Fees
Fees, plans and any pilot period are set out in your order or agreed with us in writing. Unless agreed otherwise, fees are payable in advance and are not refundable.
Changes to the service
We are always improving Maven, so features may change. We will give notice before removing a feature your firm relies on. Some features may be offered as early access and may change before they are final.
Ending your use
Your firm can stop using Maven at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously broken or if fees go unpaid after notice. When an account closes, your firm can ask for a copy of its content, after which we delete it as described in our Privacy policy.
Liability
Maven is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made using drafts that were not reviewed. Our total liability is limited to the fees your firm paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and the courts of Dar es Salaam will deal with any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will let your firm know before they take effect. Using Maven after that means you accept the updated terms.
